IMU sensor technology rehabilitation system for user and clinician use. Backed through secondary ressarch, persona building and journey mapping.
Bench X is a rehabilitation wearable designed for powerlifting athletes recovering from shoulder injuries, with a focus on safe barbell bench press training. Many athletes, particularly those recuperating from rotator cuff surgery, lose kinesthetic awareness and struggle to maintain proper posture during recovery. This can often lead to prolonged healling process or risk of re-injury.
Moulded to fit both the users and clinicans needs, the design emerged as a compression arm sleeve embedded with IMU and haptic feedback technology, combined with a
digital platform for remote monitoring.
This integration allows clinicians to set tailored workouts, track motion data in real time, and reintroduce athletes back to sport-specific training with precision and safety- without the need for constant supervision.
